We take the protection of your invention details seriously. Our security practices include:

SOC 2 Type II certification in progress – We are actively implementing and verifying our enterprise-level security controls.
Data isolation – Confidential client data is not shared with public AI models or used for third-party training.
Private user portal – All sessions and reports are stored securely in your account.
Full control – You may delete your Discovery Agent disclosures and reports permanently.
Encryption – All data is encrypted in transit and at rest using modern cryptographic protocols that are regularly reviewed and updated.

Privacy Policy

Landfall IP, LLC (“Landfall IP,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you use:

our public website (the “Site”),
our client-facing tools (including the Discovery Agent and User Portal), and
our recruiting and general business communications.

This Policy does not replace our professional confidentiality obligations to clients or the terms in any engagement agreement. If you are a client, your matter information is also governed by your engagement agreement and applicable ethical rules.

1) What we collect

We collect the following types of information, depending on how you interact with us:

Identifiers / Contact – name, email, phone, company/role, postal address.
Device / Network – IP address, device and browser type, operating system, and general region inferred from IP.
Usage / Analytics – pages viewed, referring URLs, time on page, clicks, and similar metrics.
User Content – information you submit in forms, emails, or uploads (e.g., questions, documents). If you use the Discovery Agent or User Portal, this may include technical materials relevant to legal services.
Recruiting Data – resume/CV details, employment history, education, references, and scheduling information.
Compliance & Security – log files, audit trails, troubleshooting data, and information needed to detect or prevent fraud and abuse.

We do not seek to collect government IDs, precise geolocation, or financial account numbers through the Site. Please do not include such information unless we expressly request it through a secure channel.

2) Sources of information

You – when you fill forms, subscribe, request materials, apply for roles, or communicate with us.
Automatic collection – through cookies and similar technologies when you use the Site or Portal.
Service providers & partners – hosting, email, analytics, security, recruiting, and communication vendors.

3) How we use information

We use personal information to:

Provide and improve the Site and Portal, including analytics, testing, and support.
Respond and communicate about inquiries, events, publications, and legal-service requests.
Operate securely by detecting, investigating, and preventing fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
Market our services (e.g., newsletters and event invites) consistent with your preferences.
Recruit and evaluate candidates.
Comply with law, enforce terms, protect rights, and maintain business records.

We do not use personal information for automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.

4) AI and automated tools

We may use reputable AI and automation tools to help classify, summarize, draft, or analyze materials. We:

configure such providers as processors/service providers under contract;
apply data-minimization and access controls;
review outputs before use in our practice; and
do not permit AI providers to use your information for their advertising or training unrelated to our instructions, unless we obtain your consent.

5) Cookies and tracking

We use: (a) essential cookies (for site operation and security) and (b) analytics cookies (to understand traffic and improve content). You can manage non-essential cookies in your browser settings.

We do not use the Site to conduct targeted advertising, and we do not sell or share personal information as defined by applicable Colorado or U.S. privacy laws.

6) How we disclose information

We disclose personal information only as described below:

Service providers – hosting, cloud storage, analytics, email delivery, communications, security, recruiting, customer-support tools, and similar operations partners (bound by contract to use data only to provide services to us).
Parties you authorize – if you link, integrate, or direct us to disclose information.
Legal and compliance – to comply with law, court orders, bar rules, audits, or to protect rights, safety, and security, including preventing fraud or abuse.
Business transactions – in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets (your information may transfer to the successor; we will notify you where required).

We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising and have not done so in the prior 12 months.

7) Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above and to comply with legal, ethical, and recordkeeping requirements. Factors include the type of data, why it was collected, our legal obligations, dispute-resolution needs, and security.

8) Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No system is 100% secure. If you believe your information has been compromised, contact us immediately using the details below.

9) Your privacy rights

As a Colorado-based firm, we comply with applicable U.S. state privacy laws. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

Access/Know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we hold about you;
Correct inaccurate information;
Delete information, subject to legal and ethical exceptions; and
Appeal our decision if we decline a request.

To exercise your rights, email info@landfallip.com with “Privacy Request” in the subject line. We will verify your identity and respond as required by law. We do not offer opt-out mechanisms because we do not sell, share, or use personal information for targeted advertising.

10) Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in some jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11) Third-party sites and services

Links or integrations to third-party sites are provided for convenience and are governed by those parties’ policies. We are not responsible for their practices.

12) Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Effective Date” shows the latest revision. Material changes will be posted on the Site and, where required, we will notify you and/or request consent.
